April 2008 Accreditation Awarded

Neil Morris, Director of Meadow Energy Rating, has become the first Building Research Establishment accredited On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor.

Only accredited assessors are permitted to produce Energy Performance Certificates for new dwellings completed after 6 April 2008. Neil says "it is an important step in the industry to ensure SAP assessments are produced by suitably accredited professionals. This is th culmination of months of work with the BRE and our software providers BuildDesk and I am delighted to be the first accredited assessor in the UK".

SAP Software Revisions

With the requirement for Energy Performance Certificates, there have also been changes in the SAP2005 calculation methodology. All assessments should be made using SAP version 9.81, on the most recently approved version of software. Please see the attached link.

Approved SAP2005 Software

If you are outsourcing your SAP Assessments, please ensure your Assessments are completed using the correct version of the SAP methodology. Meadow Energy Rating use BuildDesk Energy Design V3.3, which is fully accredited and recommended by the BRE who selected the software for its On-Construction Domestic Energy Assessor Accreditation Scheme.

It is also important that your assessments are being carried out by an Accredited Domestic Energy Assessor. We are fully Accredited with the BRE, look out for the Certification tick for peace of mind!
